GO 4 Map Icon - What is it?

What is the icon in the lower right of the map window do? (see link )
I click on it and it does nothing, also does nothing in map full screen.

I've been wondering about this too.
I thought it might be to cache the map as it looks a bit like a flash drive, but as you say it doesn't seem to do anything.
Hope someone else knows.

I always thought it looked like an eraser.

I think it is an eraser that erases your flight path on the map.
