I’ve been doing hand take off and landing with my M4P and my RC2 for some time now, and I was launching it with drone holding in one hand and RC in the other. The most challening part when launching is to get those two joysticks moves inwards, to start the rotors; while I can do one with hand holding the RC I learned to use my elbow of other hand, holding the drone to move the other one in; I know you might laugh doing it this way but it works great, seen YT videos other people doing the same, now, with this new RC Pro 2, that “elbow trick” will not work, the display is in way for reaching it. Any idea what else I could do to get my rotors spinning for hand launch?

I don't have the RC2 or PRO 2, but there should be an icon on the left hand side of the screen with a circle and an arrow pointing up in the app flight screen.

Hold the button down for auto launch.

No sticks needed.

.

I would start with a kevlar face mask and a wind meter for speed and direction. And M4P freak accident will do some serious damage.

From what I recall, it was possible to use C1 as the launch button as well. Don't recall off the top of my head if that required a configuration to do, or what. Not near my controller, or I would go find it.

Yeah.... Nothing like dressing up like Jason Voorhees to put the public at ease... 😁
You can take the mask off once the drone is launched. Just put it back on upon landing and you're good to go. Besides, who's going to see you all the way out there.... ;)

Thanks Nano Banana.

if I could configure C1 to start the rotors, that would be perfect solution for me! I don't use auto take of at all, actually. I start the rotors, and this is where you need both hands to pull sticks down and inwards, then take of manually. I will have to look if that is possible

Instead of DJI struggling to come up with something cool, why not just copy Skydio who has already mastered this launch and landing both on the ground and by hand. I know people aren't going to want to hear this but there's no shame in implementing a superior method that millions can benefit from. DJI has already put Skydio out of the consumer business, just take the 10 things they did right and bring them over to DJI who's pretty good at stealing tech anyway, let's be honest. That way we don't have a bunch of DJI owners struggling to be cool and launch their drones by hand and risking getting chopped up fingers and hands and that silly turning the drone upside down movement.

But I get it, the goal is to put enough distance/time between you and the tech and introduce it *later* after everyone has forgotten about Skydio and you can now claim it was all your own idea. We've seen this before. Hey, just keeping it real, folks. My Skydio 2+ does this and it's flawless; tried to hand land my Mavic 3 Pro the other day and it scared the hell out of me, I just put it down in the tall grass:

I found it! You have to tap on the auto take off button first than take off dialog shows up and allows you to use C1 to auto take off the drone! Just tried it taking off my hand, took off no issues! Huge thanks to you for this!
