3 Hanksville,Utah, and Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument , Utah

I am still working my way through a ton of assets towards creating a video, but would like to share a few images from our recent astrophotography private workshop to some of the parks of Utah. All of these images were created by the Mavic 3, and processed in Adobe Photoshop 26. Both regions are legal for drones, including Grand Staircase Escalante which is a National Monument (not a National Park).

Dale, please confirm that the column with gray shales to the left is Factory Butte. The erosional features in the marine shale are dramatic.

Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is governed by the BLM, so that’s why it’s legal to fly there, which I’ve also done. Factory Butte also sits on BLM lands, and I flew there last October.

Nice work! My only suggestion is to shoot closer to golden hour so that the colors are richer and shadows greater.

If you return to Escalante, try to (carefully!) get yourself to the Cosmic Ashtray - you won’t be disappointed!
