Has anyone actually got both cameras for one drone?

And if so how confident are you that everything will survive repeated swapping (in particular the likely wear points; ribbon cable socket, mounting screws etc).

I am tempted to get the Zoom gimbal as well and wouldn’t be swapping them around every flying session but may look to swap and change every week or two.

That said if it only looks like the sort of thing that should be done infrequently I’d rather just save for a second drone.

As long as you're gentle with the ribbon cable it should be fine. I've swapped cameras a few times and it only takes a couple of minutes.

And I’m right in thinking it just picks up it's the other module on so right dial becomes zoom instead of aperture?

For the price of the Zoom module here in the UK I’m sorely tempted in that case.

I ended up buying both drones but I've seen the camera as a part for repair quote as $147USD so I'd feel ripped off if I paid more. I'd assume the part will be for sale eventually as a part from DJI rather than stripping the part from a complete drone.

....or, buy neither and save and get and Inspire II and swap cameras at will!!.....(hey - that sounds good - might have to start saving!!....)....

There is a bit of a size and cost difference between the two! Can’t exactly just wang the Inspire in to a backpack and take it hiking just in case there’s something worth shooting!
