Curious....for you hobbyists such as myself, have any of you thought of leaving the hobby because of all the attention it gets and the laws/regulations that are in place or could come in to play down the road? Maybe right now your saying naw I'll stay put cuz I like it or maybe your thinking if it gets any worse, then I'll definitely find something else to do.

Who knows it could come down to an all-out ban on hobbyist flyers and only part 107's will be allowed, sort of like a drivers license for a car or a pilot.

Enthusiastic people always find a way.

I completly feel the same, coming from diffrent country,
things started to esclate here faster.
i can not fly 200 meter from any residential place
no more then 50 meter distance/ hight
and not allow to sale visuals !

you need licened to charge mony for your media, pilot licenning
cost around 20,000$
and then for each aircraft you want to fly you need to pay 500$ to register

that is all made up to cut the amount of pepole who can and will go throw all of it to actually fly drones
commercially.

so YES, I do consider leaving the hobby as much as I addicted to it.
I guess one can understand where "they" are coming from...
we do fly an aircraft
it is violating security, which in some parts of the world is very problematic, like my country
there is a privecy thingy
and crashing issue

so to consider that in 10 years every persone in the world would have a drone and would do with it what ever he wants.....
I am at the hobby for 10 years beck then its was 1 persone for every 1000 pepole
today i think it is 100
so in 10 years .......

now lets say you do not like the way goverments issuing it right now.
take a moment and give a real solution for the problems and see that it is not very easy
and doesn't look promesing !

p.s
Sorry for my English and typo

I feel the same way.. to... I just get fed up with the negativity that the hobby brings when your out flying or looking for a good spot to fly/video.
I recently took up photography.. and was gob smacked at the courteous attitudes to you, when taking stills or video ... people wait for you to take the shot.... quite refreshing

yep I could give it up tomorrow.. but will I.. probably not

If anything I feel more encouraged to be into drones at at the moment as a few years down the line when technology like the Mavic is much cheaper and more accessible which in turn is likely to bring much stricter rules. In the UK the current drone rules are quite sensible but clearly frequently broken so I can see those being enforced in software, I'm pretty careful where I fly and I don't see the legality of that changing.

I had a little chuckle at this as it's quite different to the response I frequently get when out with the camera, a lot of people seem to have a knee jerk reaction when they see someone with a DSLR that they must be a pro and immediately go on the defensive rather than realising I'm just an amateur taking some nice landscape shots.
