I just wanted to say hello and thank you for this wonderful forum and all your helpful posts!

I bought my first drone, a Mavic Air, this spring and really love flying and taking pictures with it. I'm really impressed by the picture and technical quality of DJI drones! Unfortunately I'm not so skilled with video-editing, so I am, for the moment, just lifting my hobby – fotography – to new heights. As a graphic designer, I love editing my photos and adding them to my projects for some unique content.

Currently, I'm searching for info about ND filters to achieve a higher photo quality and I'm planning to buy a Mavic 2 Pro for my aerial photography.

---

Thank you again for all your precious information on this forum!

best regards
Christian

For the purpose of handling the problem with overexposed skies (loss of detail) I do bracketing with 5 shots instead of graduated ND filters. The exposure value is set to -0,3, because I don't need totally overexposed shots.
I then combine the sky with the landscape.
Normal ND filters are used to slow down the exposure time to smoothen waterflow or skies.
Have alook at this video

ND filters don't improve the quality of the image. They just darken either parts (graduated) or the whole image. On the contrary they can have negative side effects on the colors, depending on their quality.

ND filters are only of use with video, not much use for stills with a drone. But they are very usefull in stills with say a DSLR standard digital camera on a tripod, not drone. Und wo im Bayern bist du uberhaupt?
