I’ve had a Mavic 2 pro for a couple years, A few days ago, I put it on my porch and shot it straight up max speed, the next thing I know the battery hit the deck, and I couldn’t find the drone for a couple hours. I eventually, found it. So yesterday I went and bought an air 3 more. They’re basically The same but the air three has better video and zoom. below is The endgame for my poor Mavic 2 🥴IMG_1260.jpeg

Did the Battery swell and eject itself!?
If so carefully research Battery care for your Drone. You don't want that happening again!

Greetings from Chicago the Windy City, welcome to the forum.
That also could happen if you hit return home, it goes straight up to the height you preset to return home.
It happened to me once, with no issues.

Welcome from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, USA. We have a Member's Map in the Upper Right of the Title Bar. Click on "Members" and then Click on "Member's Map…" Check it out and you might find some new flying friends.

Below is the link to all of the downloads offered by DJI for the Mavic Air 3, including the User Manual.

After you read the Manual, read it again, you will be surprised what you missed the first time and you will be better prepared for that first "scary moment…"

Fly Safe and Good Luck!

The RTH will only function if the drone is 20 or more meters away from the launch site...

I have three batteries, none of them were swelled. I pay attention and take very well care of the Mavic two and the batteries. It won't happen again because I believe this one's ready for the graveyard unless I can sell it all for parts to someone that has one. I replaced it with a DJI Air 3.
