Hello, people from all over,

I retired a few years ago but am bored. Wife is NOT retiring for several more years. So, new venture in the drone services field. I have been flying a Mavic Pro on and off for many years now. Bought an Air 3S and Flip. Decided to start a drone services business in Houston, TX. Skytronic Drones. Have my (temporary) 107 Cert in hand, web site up and running and am learning fun new stuff daily. Thanks for being here to help people and I look forward to helping others in the future.

I confess I am a little concerned about the governments actions with DJI (and other related drone companies) and hope cooler heads will figure out a safe way forward.

Regards,
Gary

Best of luck in your new venture.

As to your “little concern” it might get cured in a little over 3.33 years when we are tired of authoritarianism.

Welcome to the Forum From Bakersfield!!
The problem of having a Drone Business with only DJI in your hangar is that its kinda risky. There may come a time when you need a Drone FAST only to find your DJI unresponsive, or in need of some sort of service... this was actually a concern when the Gov. was not picking on them.
DJI Drones are cheap to buy for the consumer and that makes them enticing for business use, BUT their use in business comes with very high Maintenance costs and long downtimes.
These Drones cannot be fixed on-the-fly. and eventually you will end up looking for a much easier to service option.
DJI is a great place to Start your Hanger BUT Dont fill your Hanger with them... Have some reliable Backups.
I have and still use DJI's BUT I have Other Drones as a backup. ALL of my non DJI Drones can have all the motors changed in about 15 min....... DJI....15 min won't get the plasic cover off!

Very nice website!!! I have done several hundred jobs but all via the pilot for hire route. Primary workhorse is Mavic 3E. Not worried about the DJI issue; it will sort out one way or the other. Best of luck to you going forward; interested to see if your website brings in many leads.

Agreed. However, I think this was happening before the current administration. And there seem to be some legitimate concerns. However, these can easily be resolved. The bigger issue, it seems to me, is the those lobbying against DJI for there own economic motives. Thanks for the reply!

Hi. This is interesting. I would be interested in your other drone choices. Thanks.

I am interested in looking into that as well. I am so new to this that I don't have much experience. I am grateful for a brother in law who works in construction and is allowing me to track the progress, and take glamour shots, of one of his worksites. Great learning experience and so far the results are very encouraging (as seen on my web site).

Do you recommend any of the pilot for hire sites? Thanks.
