Hello fellow Pilots! I have had my Mavic Pro for a month now really enjoying it. I also hold a Private pilot license with a couple of hundred hours logged although not current at this time I am studying for my part 107 ticket. I am finding this scratches my flying itch at a lower price point than renting airplanes these days ;-). One of my other hobbies is photography so the Mavic brings a new perspective to my photography hobby as well. Lots of good info and a nice group of folks here looking forward to hanging out. So far my takeoffs equal my landings so no crashes yet. I will endeavor to keep it that way. Fly safe everyone.

Regards
Mark

Welcome to MavicPilots! You should do fine on the 107 since you had a pilots license previously. Fly safe and have fun!

Welcome, I also hold private but not current for similar reasons. I think you will have no problem with the 107 after a little refresher. There is a FAA presentation followed by a self-test that I scored 100% on so refresh if necessary on reading the weather briefs, sectional charts, and remember all the non-intuitive weather stuff you passed before... and I am sure you will pass first try. I would schedule my test, but I don't really have a commercial gig planned, and weather in KC has been so bad I barely fly... but will be soon.

If you were to fail, it would be either weather, or sectional understanding. There will be questions about approach and where in respect to the field you will be... ie: if you are on a left downwind for 36, where are you with respect to the airport. NSEW (W).

A few weather acronyms that we don't think about often... TSRA=Thunderstorms. Refresh on clouds.
