I haven't purchased a drone yet but after all the research I've settled on the DJI Mavic.

Does anyone know of available locations in the Northern, VA area?

Thanks for the welcome, looking forward to piloting the Mavic. Searching for legal area to fly is challenging here. I'm only 17 miles from DC therefore I'll have to drive a bit to fly

Yeah I grew tall in woodbridge, I have heard there are areas around occoquan but I would try some of the parks around there.

Thanks, I'll most likely order from Amazon. There's so much info shared, between your forum and all the experienced pilots on YouTube it's been easy deciding which drone as well as if the new hobby is worth the investment and I have to say it seems well worth it

The small town of Occoquan is where I really want to fly, the Occoquan river would be beautiful to capture on video. Being that it's a small town I'll. Just go down to the little town hall bldg and ask permission
