Purchased a Mavic Pro a couple of days ago to use for photography and filming.

Having searched the Internet for answers to questions this forum came up trumps every time so here I am.

I am looking to do a fair bit of filming fir my business. Filming customers riding their motorcycles when touring. I won't be selling the footage, just offering it as a video / visual souvenir of their experience. Do I need to get a Pfco to do this?

Many thanks in advance

Welcome Gmtltdt; definitely the right place to get answers. Having said that however, and I apologize for my ignorance, but can you elaborate more on “Pfco” :)

PfCO, Permission for Commercial Operations. I am the CEO of my company and want to film customers riding their motorcycles when on tour with their express permission. Whilst I don't intend to charge them for the footage (I'll simply link them to the final edit) I am wondering if I am required to gain a PfCO as it'll be used for the above purpose. I suspect its a grey area.

If I do need to obtain a Pfco I'll most likely end up charging a small fee for the footage to cover running costs; liability, permit, CAA fee etc...

To note I will have liability insurance as a minimum as part of being a responsible user and for protection.

I can only speak from what I know about United States Federal Aviation Administration regulations which states in part 107 that it’s illegal to operate a drone from a moving vehicle.

If you are standing, feet on the ground filming, it leagal to film people but as I understand it, you can’t post or share the footage and it must be disposed of (not sure about that last part)

Doing it for profit in the US, I’m sure the government will require their share.

Since you mentioned "CAA", I'm going to assume you're flying in the UK. If that's correct, check out this page for more details on flying commercially in the UK.
