Help Fixing A Blacklisted Air 3

Could not or would not, is not the issue as with ebay and as others have said, it is stolen property, so DJI offering to help in anyway would then be supporting the theft. And in doing so, would put them in a bad way. As mentioned above, it is stolen property. If you are caught with such stolen property by authorities, then you would be in a bad situation. Possession.
There is a distinct possibility that the OP "acquired" the stolen drone in "some other way" than buying it from an eBay seller, and is now asking for our assistance in how to maximize his profit on his “independently acquired" stolen drone, while disparaging DJI for cracking down on drone thieves! His true cost was likely zero!

I'm glad other people noticed the OP's complaint about an "$1800 hole". I've seen refurbished Air 3 Fly more kits for $1000-$1200.

that made me pretty suspicious, but I'm cynical

Yes, and the OP is clearly no fool! He just became a member on Saturday! In his first post, he referred to his "$1000 paper weight," which also made no sense, as the batteries, hub and controller are still worth over $700, and the drone can still be parted out. Then, later, it is an "$1800 hole," but he never told us exactly what he paid for it, if anything at all. Then, once we tell him the error code that he claims DJI told him meant it was stolen is actually an RID error, he says that error code made him call DJI, and then he mysteriously wants the serial number checked (clearly to see if the original owner had already reported it stolen!). He knew it was stolen, and wanted to know if it had been flagged yet! Sir Cloake is a clearly a pseudonym for cloak and dagger!

My issue with DJI is not that they could not help me, its they would not help me. They gave me no information to hel me fix it, no alternative to fix it, nothing. Sure they don't owe me anything, but they dont have any morals either... go china. sure it is a stolen item, just not by me.

Refusing to deal with stolen property seems like a proper moral decision to me.

Now im just trying to dig myself out of a $1800 hole.

The original post says your paid $1000 for the drone.

I am sorta getting a vibe from this story also. If you call DJI with a problem and the serial number you give them was on the stolen list.
1. DJI would have reported all this info to the original owner and would have informed the owner that DJI would supply the phone info to the authorities.
OR
2. DJI would have stated that it is their property (if replaced thru care refresh) and must be returned to them to avoid legal action.
3. Told them to keep the Drone but that it cannot, will not, fly and is un-fixable.

In this case the O.P. is still looking at paying the price for a refurb (around 1000 dollars) weather he does it himself or just buys a new one....Thats just how rebuilding newer DJI Drones goes. (matching parts aint cheap).
I don't mind telling the OP what he needs but honestly its a very expensive way to aquire a drone and a huge headache.
But to each his own.
