Help Fixing A Blacklisted Air 3

All possible legal actions were taken, nothing can be done. Now I'm just looking to find a way to fix it or now sell it.

My issue with DJI is not that they could not help me, its they would not help me. They gave me no information to hel me fix it, no alternative to fix it, nothing. Sure they don't owe me anything, but they dont have any morals either... go china. sure it is a stolen item, just not by me.

Now im just trying to dig myself out of a $1800 hole.
Believe me...I am sorry as can be that it happened to you......but the reason behind this policy of dji is to help prevent exactly this kind of thing from happening.....if they do help you, what would be the point of having this policy? ...It would defeat the very activity it is intended to curtail.
I know you said you tried with ebay and paypal....but did you point out their involvement with selling stolen goods? You want to hold the feet of dji to the fire, you are angry with them.....but they had no involvement in your transaction. Your anger should be aimed at Ebay and paypal....dji did nothing disreputable...the other two parties have

Sorry about the sell. I guess if you find a cheap enough crashed one you can use the parts you got from the one you got BUT the fees to get everything matched is gonna be steep.

Again, my problem is not that they cant help, its that they wont. I'm not happy with the seller either but nothing can be done about that part. I have more understanding for a single person than I do a corporation. Nothing you say will change that.

Leave it at that and now how can I fix it.

The motherboards can be had for around 6 hundred U.S.. Replace that and start matching parts. Get a PC from somewhere else to do it tho You will be giving them Remote access in order to match stuff.

.....So, let me ask.....what do you think they should do?

$600 for a board is crazy high, holly cow! A whole unit can be had for $800. That's insane.

The Mavic 3's Camera and gimbal together are 750-900 "parted"

Offer to take the drone in and repair it or replace the component at a cost. Or have a part of the policy that allows a unit to be reauthenticated and activated with proof of acquisition and a fee. Perhaps tell me what component would need to be replaced so I can replace it myself.

Again not looking to debate their policy, its pointless. More on how I might be able to fix it and perhaps others as well as I know well enough I'm not the only one in this boat.

Depending on the Model 3 you want to buy.... Drone only, You are gonna pay around 1200 for a classic and around 1600 on up for a pro. Thats REFURB box prices

Where are you seeing that? I'm finding them for 800-1000 USD. I also wasn't aware there was a "classic" version.

Excuse me while I remove the foot from my mouth LOL I am reading AIR 3 and typing Mavic 3 parts and prices SORRY
update ahead
400 for a motherboard for the Air 3 AIR 3!

Have you tried to contact your the major credit card you used thru Paypal to complete your eBay purchase?

Was this drone "new" or had it been activated before? Did you say you got the DJI error when you tried to activate the drone? Or, did you simply error an error when commenting and trying to fly? Who's DJI account is in that drone?

SORRY bout that lol the same applies tho Its not gonna save you much to fix it, just sell that one for parts and get a refurb. If The one you got was on "the list" did they ask you to return it?

OK...it was a misunderstanding on my part...now I do understand...you do not want to debate the policy, which could help you understand it....you just want to complain about it and have them make an exception just for you...right?

I can with my bank do a forced recall of credits, but it has repercussions that are in my opinion worse that what I'm in right now. It was sold as for repair/parts. I booted everything up and tried to activate it when the error code (1581) popped up when I try and activate the drone on the RC2. Nothing worked so I updated the firmware on both units and tried again and still the error. When you boot it up at first the camera turns on and its all visible on the RC2 for about 3 seconds then it asks to activate the drone. No account was on the drone when I got it, mine is on the RC2 now but ill be logging out shortly.

WHO at DJI told you a 1581 Error meant it was on the replaced list??
1581 is an RID Error !!!!!

You are still young. Let this serve as a reminder of 'Caveat emptor'...in the future. Don't trip down that rabbit hole again...
