default rates are painfully slow. the recommended thing is to open up parameters with the old assistant 1.1.2 program and alter those rates in sport mode - i set mine to 8 m/s for both ascend and descent in sport mode. some folk set it to as fast as 12, but i think it is too much. so, on my model it is now 8 in sport mode and 4m/s in P mode. it speeds up things quite a bit.
