Looking for someone in the Greenville SC area to help (hands on) with video editing. Yes, I have tried several free and purchased editors, (probably 8 in total) but still videos don’t come out right, not smooth, hard to learn the program, and other problems.

Please do not ask me very “technical” questions because I am new to video editing.

Hi Ballerhe75, I too felt that editing videos would be way beyond my skill set but after a few days of watching video tutorials on YouTube I started getting my head around it all.

I personally use the free version of Davinci Resolve and just typed that into YouTube and started watching how to do stuff.

It’s actually good fun and quite rewarding to do.

If you are ok with computers then give it a go if not then I hope you find someone near you who can help out as requested.

Best of luck

Shame I didn't know this last week. We were in Myrtle Beach all week. Had computers with us. Droned and edited all week. Good learning experience.

I just bought my first ios device. A 9.7 in 2018 6th gen ipad has the A10 ....and i was surprised at how it can render 4k also dl 4k from go app, and edit and export. My galaxy s9+ could only do 1080 and editing 4k was like impossible....anyway tried imovie and it was cool but then bought lumafusion (20$) and it was worth every penny it is also rated #1 in ios. U can pretty much do anything a pc editor can do.... and there are tutorials on youtube. I didnt know how to edit and taught myself how in about an hour....give it a try u will be pleasantly surprised how easy it is.

Since your question isn't specific to the Mavic 2 series it may be worth reposting in the general discussion forum and in the thread title, put your location to make it clear what you're asking and that should get a wider selection of the forum population to see your topic to give you a better chance of getting some help.

Another shout out for iMovie. I use it on my iPad and it is pretty easy to learn even for an old fart like us.

Hi I have a Mavic Pro and would like to shoot in 4K but I can’t get the files onto my iPad mini 4. I was thinking of getting an iPad 6th gen for this, how do you transfer 4K video files to your iOS device because the cad reader dongle stopped working after iOS 12 update

I have an iPad Pro 12.9 (first gen) running IOS12 and the SD card dongle works fine to download 4K. My dongle is fairly new. (now that just sounds weird)

That’s good to know. I wanna get something like that to edit and post 4K videos.
How is the editing of 4K whith your iPad Pro 12.9 first gen ?
My iPad mini 4 won’t let me.
And my iPhone 6sPlus is to small.

My iPad Pro, using iMovie, handles 4K editing very well from my MP2. I can scroll around, make cuts, add titles, add sound, all with no discernible lag. The rendering takes a little bit. I have not timed it but a wild guess is about 1 min per 5 min video.

Unfortunately, so far I have only used H.264 so don’t know about H.265.

U cant download them right from dji go 4? My 6th gen will let me i just hit the play button view my pics and videos and pick what i want i hit download and it downloads the 4k file right to ipad! Ios 12 lets u do this. With my galaxy s9+ i could only download pictures and videos up to 1080p....i was worried i would have to get a sdcard reader to lightning port...nope....i actually created my first edit. Its so easy with the ipad! Fly ...go to go 4 play button (gallery) download what i want, goes to ipad then i open lumafusion edit on the ipad. (It edits and renders 4k with ease! And its fast!) Done. I was gonna get the ipad mini 4 but it has the A8 its a little old....

Here is what i did on ipad from flying to uploaded to youtube 2 hours ;) my edits will get better its my first one... Watch in 4k

Okay, some questions. First, and nothing personal but I see "cinematic" lots - what does it mean? But whatever, I really liked your first effort. I wish I lived where you can fly more freely but Seattle is very restrictive.

Next, I've never used an Apple or ipad product other than someone hands me one to look at something. I see a variety but clearly some comments suggest you need a newer one? I suspect that Apple still does not provide a slot for any kind of sd card. But I see you mention you were able to download to your ipad fairly easily. You are using the built-in video editing software. How easy? I see others recommended a 3rd party product.

Finally, just what I need - another device!!!!

Thanks in advance.

Cinematic means different things to different people.... it doesn't necessarily have to be Bloomquist footage lol

Put it this way i hated the fact or even mention of editing.... I was browsing YouTube one day I noticed on a video that this guy was saying you could actually edit 4k on an iPad so I thought let me try that on my Galaxy S9 plus that is pretty new well apps are not optimized for 4K not like Apple. So i went into a best buy after some research (A10 is plenty good enough) bought the 6th gen ipad well the next day I came home from work shot some 4k on the zoom I then went to the play button in the go 4 app and to my surprise when I hit download it actually downloaded on my ipad.....now on my s9 + I can only download up to 1080p well the ipad downloads 4k! So that's cool I didn't need a SD card to lightning port adapter so now my next hurtle was getting into editing and learning lumafusion. (Imovie is good too but luma had best reviews more options) opened up lumafusion with a couple of sample clips and just messed around for an hour it is seriously easy then when you want to export you can do it right to YouTube or your gallery and the **** thing exports in near real time....so a 4gb movie in 4 min 35sec.... also scrubbing through footage no lag blew me away. Crazy thing is you can even edit h265 on the 6th gen ipad with ios12 ......i was always against getting an apple product ....but this thing rocks.(1st apple product )... and it's super convenient. I'm not tied to a PC and can edit whenever I want wherever I want....

Anyway.... if you do end up getting one just go into a Best Buy or online and search for 2018 6th gen iPad with A10....i got one at best buy for 279$ + tax they were running some kind of deal can't beat that with a stick....sh#t for everything it does!

THANKS. A very thorough answer that makes it sound like a good option. Particularly over trying to upgrade an older Win7 desktop computer. Again, thanks.

A recent iPad + LumaFusion app + YouTube tutorials (LumaFusion also provides full PDF guides) is in my opinion by far the easiest way to access the benefits professional level editing but with extremely simple and familiar tap, drag, & drop style inputs. 4K resolution is not an issue. There is no problem editing 10bit D-Log H265 footage on a recent iPad Pro either. It's also very cheap, and a one time purchase without a subscription model. Support is excellent if you need it, and the actual engineers reply to you, not generic help staff.

Keep in mind the standard 9.7" iPad is getting updated probably in March, so don't buy one now. Video Editing in general is much smoother on the iPad Pro's if you can swing it.
