Hi drone friends, as some of you know I was very surprised at the end of February to find I was severely afflicted with Coronary Artery Disease, and was basically a walking death sentence at any time. One artery was 99% blocked. I'm 63.

4 days after this discovery, I underwent open-heart surgery, and had a triple-bypass. I've missed you all.

I'm back, 4 months later, and 20 years younger. So much has changed -- not just the usual (diet, exercise, blah blah blah), but I had no idea how sick I was. I feel so good now, healthy, vigorous, enjoying much of life I haven't for the last 5 years or more. It feels so good to work out hard for 40 minutes, getting drenched in sweat. My prospects are very good for another 25+ years on this Mortal Coil, if I take care of my self. Top goal: Ski and Mountain Bike again next year, something that has eluded me for some time.

Finally, I'd like to urge my fellow droners to avoid my mistakes; don't be in denial. I've known something was wrong for years, but avoided getting it diagnosed, and facing the changes in life I would need to make. As Trace Adkins sings, "you came here to live, you didn't come here to die". Please choose to live, friends.

See your doctors regularly, especially in your fifties and beyond. Enjoy food, but be responsible about your diet, and stay fit. A Big Mac's fine -- once a month. Chicken and fish are your best friends. Keep an eye on that blood chemistry, and take your meds if you need 'em.

Going out to fly today for the first time since, gonna do some Avata 2 Fighter Pilot. Really looking forward to it. Looking forward to sharing with all of you going forward.

Regards,
Dave

Good to hear you've made it through to the other side and I hope your health continues to improve.

I've had two friends who have been through something similar recently and I've been a bit shocked how in one case it wasn't noticeable. One friend had been feeling light he had tight pressure on his chest and found he couldn't have stents so is currently awaiting bypass surgery, he's quite a fit and active person but seems a genetic component to it since his Dad had similar problems at the same age. Another friend was fine but he felt when walking up a hill it was harder than it should, he went to the doctor who set him up for an active ECG test which they almost immediately stopped and checked him into the hospital. Some testing revealed although he hadn't felt anything he'd already had a heart attack and he also couldn't have stents so had to wait in hospital and have urgent surgery.

Glad to hear you’re on the mend Dave and they found it in the nick of time.

Take it easy 🙏

Glad to hear you’re doing so great. The Care Refresh on our bodies is not as good as it could be. I’m having struggles with my health hope to get things straightened out soon.

WELCOME BACK FRIEND!!!!!
So glad to hear you are doing well. You missed some pretty good debates, could have used your voice in many of them.
Have a great time with your Avata today !
