Hi all, I am thinking of buying an Ipad 2 to download the app for the Mavic Mini.

I have an opportunity to buy the Ipad 2. I want it just to use with my Mavic Mini, my eyesight is not what it used to be and I have trouble seeing the detail on my iPhone and wondered if anyone out there had used the Ipad 2 with the Mini and it worked OK?
would be very grateful if someone could advise me on this matter.
Thanks, in advance.

I just pulled it up on my iPad Pro and it looks fine. I don’t use the pro for flying so I can’t answer that part.

I have two iPad Air 2 that I use for flying the MM and other DJI products. They work very well and can be picked up used fairly cheap.

This is the go to site for what tablet/phone may work: Best Tablets and Phones for DJI GO & DJI Fly (Updated Daily) | Phantom Help

I am also thinking of using an iPad Air 2 if it works 100%. I occasionally use a iPad Air (2013) wifi only, that runs the Fly quite well but with only 1 gb ram has problems caching the low-res video on the pad (which I don't always need as the hi-res is on the SD card). It also can't do a screen capture but all the flying functions work well and has a good screen size.

Question @Kbviper - Will the iPad 2 do a screen capture while shooting video?

I'm not sure that the "go to site" is updated daily or is accurate. It says your iPad Air 2 that you use does not work with the Fly app, the same with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8 (SM-T290) that I have used.

Yes, definitely some parts of that site are not correct. I have DJI Go, Go 4, Pilot, and Fly all on the iPad Air 2 and all work no problem. I do not have a SIM card in either Air 2 that I use, so I have to download maps while on wifi. No issue with using the Air 2 to do a screen capture while shooting video.

Too confusing for me. Would be helpful if the op would be clear on which model iPad he is referring to.

Thank you all for your advice, I was looking at the IPad-2 second Generation Tablet, but I don't think that will work as it isn't 64bit, as is not the 4th Generation Ipad ether. I will check the DJI "Go to site" and try and decide which Device will suit me best for the Mavic Mini. Cheers.

Follow up question...as I did my mavic mini app installation on my s9+ cp...already have may flights on it...I know samsung and apple products are not compatible...anybody tried to use an ipad 5th generation as a second connection for flying with it as long as you are using same acct?thank you guys
