Hi from Oregon!

Were you outside flagging down planes?
I don't need to, I live in the shadow of an Air Force Base and they do a pretty good job all by themselves. This was shot from my back yard…

I love seeing those planes scream overhead. Amazing technology. Back in October I heard a rumbling sound coming closer to my house, so I quickly grabbed my iPhone and snapped a picture through our living room window of three chinooks and a Blackhawk skimming across our lake, maybe 50’ up. So cool.

I heard a rumbling sound
I know the Rumbling of which you speak… Notice the Pin, that's my home, notice the Blue Circle that my pin is in, that's Langley AFB… Notice the Blue Circle at "9-o'clock" of my home pin, that's Fort Eustis, home of the 128th Aviation Brigade, the training unit train and repair and maintain some of the Army’s most effective combat helicopters. Which you might notice that my home is between the two…

Home Map with Warnings.jpg

Now, I've used the expressions "Langley AFB" and "Fort Eustis" but in reality, the two are now known as "Joint Base Langley-Eustis" and they fly over my home too, but in rality, the F-22 Raptors are soooooo much loooooouder…

And as they say, that is "the Sound of Freedom…"

Oh, but he way, the Green Circle is an International Airport and Air Force One (the President's Airplane), performs practice landings there…

Welcome from another Oregonian.
Where did you take your test? I'll be taking mine someday this year.
PSI Examination Services - 8383 NE Sandy Blvd. Suite 258. There are a couple other PSI Exam sites in the Portland area but that's where I took mine.

You are in the perfect spot. Yes, it is the sound of freedom and to top it off, you get to see Air Force One or Marine One.

Are you fighting TFR’s often?

It took me a few years before I would call Fort Lewis, JBLM Joint Base Lewis McCord.
