Welcome to the forum. We look forward to your participation and your view of the world.

Hello from the Crossroads of America Bob71.

Welcome to the Forum.

Welcome to the Forum. The drone buying bug is difficult to resist as, as soon as a new model comes out, 75% of the posts here are about the new drone which I donā€™t have but would love to but canā€™t justify the cost! Actually in all seriousness I find plenty of posts that donā€™t relate directly to my ā€œoldā€ MA2 (all of 8 months old) that are both interesting, informative and with pix and vids that are great to watch. So, enjoy.

OMMā€¦šŸ˜‚ā€¦Iā€™m constantly reminded of my obsession with drones along with my flight sim on my computer. Iā€™m talking about ā€˜she who must be obeyedā€™ or as I call herā€¦the ā€˜governmentā€™

Sheā€™s a good sport.

Just a great way to share our planet šŸŒŽ with others. šŸ‘

Yeah, I've come to understand šŸ˜‚šŸ¤”. Especially if you want to do something in post......a new pc beckoned....then I saw an RC pro......the list will still undoubtedly go on and on and on. But it's great and it keeps me out of trouble šŸ‘ Man cave sorted already šŸ‘Œ. Cheers

Sorry, balls up on the first post. My drone flying is way better! I was saying, so jealous, your scenery down there is just mind blowing, I could take weeks off work, and just, fly, film, fly film.. A couple of beers in between of course. Cheers mate.

Welcome from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, USA. I fly a Mini 2 and I know the excitement you are going throughā€¦

Oh, you got he bug badā€¦ Check out the link below for an interesting readā€¦

Drone Flight Application Strategy Digest, continually updated!

Do not let the excitement of the moment get the best of you. When you are going out to fly, do it slowly and deliberately. Get used to a set procedure and even practice it.

Plug in your phone/tablet into your controller; turn on the Controller and DJI Fly App (if it does not start on its ownā€¦). On the Drone, open the front legs, then open the back legs, then remove the Gimbal Cover.

The Gimbal is the most delicate item on the Drone and banging or bumping can damage it. I also fastened a short "Remove Before Flight" ribbon to the cover so it's more noticeable and I do not forget to remove itā€¦

Turn on the drone and watch it come to "life." Watching the Gimbal go through its self-check is almost like watching a kitten or puppy opening its eyes for the first timeā€¦

Place the drone down (preferably on a Landing Pad) while it finishes its self-test (collecting satellites, etcā€¦).

Check your battery status (Phone, Drone, and Controller), check the Signal Strength, by now the Controller should have reported it updated the Home Point.

Lift off, 4-5 feet (1-1/2 meters) or so, hover a bit, check the controls (move the drone a bit forward, back, left, right, yaw left and right). By now, your Controller will probably report again, Home point Updated.

If you go out in a rush and race thru your start up and take off before the drone has finished it prep, it may update its Home Point over that pond or that old tree you are flying over and in your excitement, you'll fly the drone long past it Low Battery point and when it engages Return to Home and lands in the pond or in a tree; it will be all on youā€¦

Now go have fun, learn to fly the drone by sight before you try to fly it out a distance depending on the video feed, FPV.

I would also advise you to use YouTube and watch a lot of the Videos on flying and setting up the Drone. When it is too dark, too cold, or too wet, you can "fly it vicariously" through YouTube. Also watch some of the Blooper Drone Videos and learn how not to fly your "New Baby."

Below are the links to all of the downloads offered by DJI for the Air 2S, Mini 2, and Mini 3. You will also find the User Manuals for all your new babiesā€¦

After you read the Manuals, read them again, you will be surprised what you missed the first time and you will be better prepared for that first "scary momentā€¦"
