Here are some more shots where I spent hours corralling herds of impala to set up a shot. Using a telephoto lens, high shutter speed and the ability of my guide and assistant to force the herd to run through my predicted target area, I pre-focused, and set the camera to high shutter rate (frames per second), smaller aperture to increase focus, and high ISO (1250). These images were shot with the Nikon Z8 and Nikkor 600mm lens set at 600mm, f/8, and 1/2500th of a second. The bird is the beautiful lilac breasted roller, taking flight with gorgeous electric blue colors under the wings. Click on image to enlarge.
