Whenever they tell you anything.

On Tuesday they sent me a UPS tracking no. for my MP being sent back.

Check UPS on Tues evening. Nothing.

Check on Wed evening. Nothing.

Get an e-mail Thursday morning from UPS. It's in Ceritos, CA with an est. delivery date of 20 April!
(Hopefully Canadian Customs stay out of this...).

DJI are not only terrible at action - you can't trust what their CS people say.

I guess Easter adds a full day to the torture.

I think that there are far bigger skeletons in the DJI cupboards than one day delay to a Mavic return.. :D

Cerritos, CA is not in Canada! Why would Canadian Customs have anything to do with this?

My MP has spent more time in "wait state" than in anything being done to it. Horrible. Compounded by them using UPS ground both ways.

I'm in Canada.

Well in that case, amazon lies, Ebay seller lie, a lot of online shipping lies.
UPS, FedEx, USPS and other made shipping easy for the seller by automaticaly sending emails out for them when a lable is printed. That doesn't mean it always makes it into the truck that same day, and even if it did make it into the truck that same day it doesn't always show up in the shipper online tracking database that same day.
The only time I have not been lied to is if I needed something asap and ordered it with overnight before the pickup, but also paid an extra $30 to $50 because the customer couldn't wait another day.

Ah very nice, I didn't make that connection. Well hope it all works out the best for you! What part of Canada?

I hear you brother and I have that tee shirt.. Although mine only took 3 weeks from dispatch to return, the returned item was clearly quite a pretty used example whereas mine was pristine.

I was just commenting upon the thread title, I know that you are frustrated but a day isn't a massive crime in the scheme of things.

Beg to differ. For example I have suppliers who receive orders, process and ship the same day and I receive the stuff the next day or 2nd day. Promises kept all around.

I only received the UPS e-mail after UPS got the package to their facility (last night I assume) and the e-mail got to me today. That's not UPS's fault. They're very good in general (I have stuff coming to out business regularly and UPS (and FedEx) are usually very good with status).

DJI's status for my drone says: "Delivered" before it's even been picked up by UPS.

DJI's crappy customer support is legendary - most painfully to anyone with a drone in the loop.

It's an endemic example of DJI's process with more wait states than anything being done. More warranty time being burned off and more Care Refresh time being burned off. I'm glad it's in UPS's hands. At least they keep their promises (minus customs clearance which is beyond their control).

And I fear to see what comes out of that box. Other than my rear plate mod, my MP was not only pristine but skinned. I really hope they changed the camera and that's it ... from what I read though that is not in the cards.

Well I've sold one, and seriously debating on selling the other because the more I'm on this forum the more problems I see with firmware, not being able to get parts, the FAA not meeting promises and changing recomdatins/laws/rules constantly and now electronic license plates.
I think it's time to sell the other one and build one that I control, update firmware with versions I know are not buggy and the release notes tell the truth about what changes are made and full story of all the changes. That I can build, buy parts for and repair, and will take a better crash if I ever do crash.
Now shipping issues, repair date promises not being met. I think I'm done with DJI. Anyone that has any skill to fly without several sensors and computers, I'm just going to recommend they buy something else. It might be s good beginner drone company with the easy flying, but is it really flying if the computers do most of it?

I bought it because I don't want to fly "RC style" always keeping control of the bird and little time to plan photos/videos.
(I'm a licensed commercial pilot and flight instructor (not active) - the desire to stick-and-rudder is overcome by the desire to enjoy seeing things from low altitude and making images of it...).

The computers provide the stability and the control of the motors which no human could do realistically. That it has GPS/IMU/baro alt to me is a blessing and marvel. Let's me focus on getting the video I want.

And, yes, it's flying if you manage to do your mission without problems or mishaps.

Yes, it's still flying. Just shocked me when I found I I couldn't get parts. And when I can't get a straight answer in the FAA stuff, and that the store I bought it from didn't mention any of this and I live 3.5 miles from an airport so I can't even do a small test flight after a firmware update for a test.
Then the waiting period I keep hearing on repairs, so you crash once in the 4 months that are good for flying and loose a month, so then it's three months out of the year.
I guess the more I hear and read about these things the more frustrating it becomes and makes me doubt my decision for buying a DJI product.
The irony is I picked it up when I traded in some old DSLR stuff because I can't hike anymore with my back, so I thought if I can't climb the mountain then I will fly to the top and still get the same picture. So I did originally buy it with the camera being one of the main reasons.
After all a cheaper one or a mini 250 racer won't capture still images like some DJI drones.
