How do you update?

Do you use DJI assistant or directly to drone and rc with this drone for your updates? I had an issue with one of their updates couple years back and deleted the Assistant 2 and haven't used it since, should I rethink that?

100% using the software on my Mac computer and that includes remotes, googles, drones. since this has always worked reliably for me, I don't have the need to use wifi with the drone. so if i get that message, i cancel and then hook up to computer. i never update the drone firmware in the field.

i will update the fly app on the remote if it asks and i will update the drone batteries or the fly safe database when those pop up, too.

I usually turn mine on at home where I have WiFi and check to see if there are any updates available before heading out to fly. Once I am out in the field, then I'm good to go. WiFi is off on the drone, there are no networks available, and I'm good to go.

I've only used DJI Assistant 2 when running into issues with updating directly from DJI Fly (which usually works just fine).

The DJI Assistant 2 is always a good app to keep installed just in case. And then you could of course download it when needed (if ever needed).

According to the download page it doesn't look like the application is being updated and is now discontinued.

DJI offers different versions of DJI Assistant 2 for different drones. It looks like they are only discontinuing those versions for drone models they no longer support.

I use the RC2 controller to update firmware.
