How high will the air fly when taking off ?

Okay i didnt know you can use that "hotkey" also during a flight. Any way to turn that off ? dont wanna do it by accident

I'm not sure about the Air, but would think all DJI you can do this.
Google > DJI turn off CSC

I would recommend not turning it off though, it becomes reflex to never do this once you know about it, I'm not sure why or who would want to fly such a wild descending spiral action ?

CSC could be very handy of you were about to land in a bad situation (bush foliage / crowd of people) and you wanted to kill the motors at the last moment.

Default for M2 and I believe Air is that CSC only applies during emergency. IOW when AC knows it's in an abnormal state/position.

It might not be very stable but supposedly the bottom sensors should make is fairly stable.
For normal take off it goes up about 4 feet. But for "precision" landing, it goes up 19 feet. Want a great drone to play with in the house? Get a Tello. Very stable & at about 20grams it most likely will do little to no damage to anything. You can get them for less than $100 too. [emoji106]
Hey, i finally got my mavic air just now and i would try to fly indoors (the room is very wide and long so there is enough space) at the beginning till an hour and then i go out with it since its more fun outdoors.
I am to scared to hit the take off button indoors since i dont know how high it will fly at the start...

Can someone tell me how high it flies when taking off ? and also can i adjust the high of it ? also where can i turn off the bottom sensor ? i have watched many youtube videos and guides when i was waiting for my air and i thought i have learned all that cuz it looked easy. But now when i got my air now in my hands, i have no clue from all the settings haha.

According to the Manual on page 49: 3.9 ft (1.2 m).

I know it says 1.2 even in the app. But mine flew infinity times high till i pulled the left stick down while flying indoors in ATTI :)

I wouldn’t fly indoors due to the amount of prop wash (air being moved by the props), this will affect stability and controllability in ATTI mode - usually the only mode available indoors.

Why would you turn off any sensors at all? If anything turn them all on to avoid collisions. The “bottom sensors” are the visual positioning, which, in the absence of GPS is about all you’ve got to work with (ie height above the ground).

As for taking off, always do so manually with the controller. Then you are in charge of how high the aircraft goes.

Again, as others have said, until extremely experienced, don’t fly indoors.

Agree with comments above. Recommend don’t fly indoors. Practice outdoors in all modes until you are comfortable and be aware of controller feedback/messages.

I see i am more clever than anyone else actually in here xD. I turned the BOTTOM sensor only, off. Because i know how long it takes to land. You have to pull the left stick down and it still hovers but if you keep it down for a few seconds longer, THEN it lands.

If i wouldn't have bottom sensors off, i would crash it into the walls since the drone was moving agressive to the sides and specially forward so i had to land instantly...if it would take just a second longer, i would crash it already.
I was clever than most people actually :)

Don’t do it. It will plaster itself to The ceiling. Been there, done that.

Bottom sensors only sense what is below the drone, not to the sides.

Why is everyone understanding me wrong :( and why is this topic still active xD.

If you turn on the bottom sensors, you cant land instantly anymore. As i said above, you have to pull down the left stick longer. But if you turn off bottom sensors, your drone flies without any delays or limits straight to the ground and lands instead of waiting 3 seconds because the sensors and then landing once you hold the stick long enough...

Auto takeoff should be a fixed height.
I wouldn't recommend indoors unless in an area with very high ceilings such as warehouse. Instead CSC motors on, then manually ascend.

M2 doesn't have control of precision landing. Rather precision landing takes place with RTH if you went straight up about 20ft from takeoff.

Be aware of air currents. If you fly by your HVAC intake while it's running, it's likely to get sucked to it.
Also flying too close to the ceiling will get it stuck to the ceiling due to blade air currents. That can happen within a foot.

Speaking of RTH, might want to turn that off and set signal loss to hover.

My wish list is for Go app to have flight setting profiles. At least have one for indoors and default for outdoors. With so many ideal settings, one can forget a setting or waste valuable battery time setting or finding where a setting is.

If RTH is changed to hover you may end up with a walk to your autolanded drone.

RTH will result in precision landing regardless of where or altitude of the drone is when it’s initiated.

I personally like auto takeoff as the hover at about 4 feet let’s me inspect many aspects of the drone functions and assures a good Location fix for home point.

Turning off the downward sensors, not recommended by me at least, with shorten landing time by maybe 3-4 seconds as opposed to sensors on or autolanding/RTH

I agree - let's get an indoor profile that can be turned on for the current flight...shouldn't have to go through a list of changes. By default, the drone should always start in the outdoor profile.
