How long it takes DJI to repair a Mini...

This may not be news for any veteran (but reckless) pilot who has had their drone repaired often but, for careful (wreckless) pilots, and new pilots, this may be helpful:

Here’s how the timing of my Mini repair went:

• Dec. 27: Shipped to DJI.
• Jan. 7: Arrived at DJI.
• Jan. 8: Inspected, paid for.
• Jan. 9: Repaired, shipped by DJI.
• Jan. 15: Scheduled to be delivered.

Total of 20 days, including the day it was shipped:
• 12 days to ship to DJI.
• 2 days at DJI being processed and repaired.
• 6 days to ship it back.

Note that it was shipped at the tail end of the holiday rush, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that slowed things down considerably on the front end.

The two days it took DJI to turn the repair around is extremely impressive. There was likely a little bit of delay in there on my part because I did not pay as soon as I received the email.

Assuming the thing flies when it arrives here next week, I am extremely impressed with DJI’s service!
 
I agree. I had a MA repaired (replaced) with quick turn around, last year. Now waiting for my MA controller (charging connector) to be returned. One week ago, and now on it's way back. Timely communication, minimal to no cost, and quick turn around. I am also happy with service. I have DJI Refresh with my MM and hopefully will not need it, but I feel I can count on timely return to flying.

12 days shipping?!!? Where did you have to post it to?

Usually they don't repair the same unit you send in but just replace with new/refurbished unit for expediency. Check the serial to see if it matches what your sent in.

I'd say Xmas shutdown played a part in delays.

Yes, that is my sense of DJI repair/replacement. According to DJI process and email feedback, they get it out of their hands quickly. Shipping is on the shipping provider. I track shipper and feel informed.

Wow, that's crazy. Used to things taking 2 days maximum in the UK.

It's not the norm in the US. Even 6 days to get it back seems a little long. I wouldn't be surprised if DJI is economizing on the delivery speed.

I can confirm the replace rather than repair policy. I sent my Mavic Pro in for a warranty repair a month before the warranty expired. It was only two days from the time they received it until I received a tracking number that it was on it's way back. When I got it back, I checked the serial number and sure enough, it was either a refurb or new. I couldn't really tell but definitely not the one I sent in. The entire process took a month but that's another story.

That was two and a half years ago and it's still working fine.

Interesting.
First time I sent a Spark in (my first DJI) it was sent to California.
Every time after that, to include my Mavic Air, they all go 4 hours away from me in Grapevine, Texas.
If they get it on a Monday, I usually get it the following Monday.

My latest repair/replacement (MA controller) was sent to DJI (Grapevine, Texas) with prepaid UPS and is now returning USPS, with expected 3-4 days to Georgia.
