I had a blast tonight flying over a large field with my m3P. After flying by myself for a few minutes 2 or 3 birds showed up and we had a blast flying around together. It would have been nice to have a headset camera for sure. I felt like I did flying with the seagulls on the coast with a glider. They were not aggressive at all like many birds can be and this went on for a long time. I might have got some video or not haven't reviewed it yet, it wasn't about the pics or vids just the flying..justing wondering if I'm the bird whisper or not, lol..anybody else??

Good fun. I know the feeling. I'll look forward to seeing your video.

A number of years ago, I joined a Redtailed Hawk in a thermal in an ASW-19 glider over central Georgia. He could turn a lot sharper than I could, but I hung in with him while we gained a few hundred feet of altitude. I was having a real in-tune-with-the-universe moment (theme from Chariots of Fire playing in the background) until I got a little too close. The hawk banked about 120 degrees, extended his talons, and screamed at me. Of course, I only saw his beak open wide and couldn't hear him. but I tucked my tail and left him to it.

This evening, as I was landing the Mavic 3 after a look at the rain clouds over the Gulf, a Chimney Swift passed by. He didn't slow down or even glance over my way. Oh, well.

I have a pair of Peregrine falcons that have been visiting on and off for the past 2 years.
The first encounter started as an attack, the male harassing while the female went higher getting ready for the stoop, by zipping side to side and up and down I was able to avoid both birds, after about 5 minutes they gave it up and flew off.
I have seen them 11 times over that time and they have never attacked again, have come close for a look but no trouble.
Wedge-tailed Eagles don't seem to notice the Mini.

There is a murder of crows that harasses my drone at very low altitude, ironically they are quite chill with me, leave stuff etc as i leave food for them.

Typically i outfly them or fly straight up, after im level or above them, no issues, nor with landing, and i take off on the side of my field about 100 yards away from 'their' area.

There are also a few hawks which do not bother with it, some curious turkey vultures that will fly over and around to check it out, and a bald eagle that occasionally will hang out over it.

The first drone i flew, which belonged to a friend, got knocked out of the sky by a small bat in the middle of the day, destroying a leg, props, shearing off the camera. There was blood and fur on the drone. I watched the bat fly straight for it after i tried to avoid it, get wrecked by the props, and then watched the drone careen into the woods.

I try to avoid wildlife with drones.

I know there are more aggressive birds, but barn swallows are a pain. Other than that I haven't had much of a problem with birds in general. I don't know why.

Swallows and martins seem to be very interested in drones. I've often had several orbiting around a drone and once flew near a flock of several hundred during the fall migration. But they've never behaved aggressively, even very near their nests. Considering how well they fly, I've never had any concerns about collisions.
