Your 48 MP image measures 8064 x 6048.
If you save that as a jpg file, it will be approx 7-12 MB.
Does it need to be 8064 x 6048?
If you reduce the image size to 6000 x 4500 the file size will shrink to approx 5MB.
Reduce the image size more and the file will be even smaller.

Just resize them. Some platforms require certain specs. For this platform, resize them to 1200 by 640

I hope this is on target? A photo editor will do it...

Windows Paint or Mac photo editor will 'rescale' or resize images one at a time. Leave the little lock set to keep the original proportions and choose a width like 800 px. It's easier to do it from the menu that it is to drag a corner.

Windows has an Image Resizer in the PowerToys addon that will resize a whole directory, writes the resized images with a suffix so the original stays intact. Resize Images used to be on the right-click menu for the file explorer but now it needs PowerToys...

GIMP has a batch mode that will repeat any kind of edit on a directory full of images. It's a steep learning curve worth climbing, is free. Photoshop will do batches, is easier, is not free...

You're wise to want to make the file you share smaller. Unless somethings going to be seen full-sizedin an HD monitor or big screen, all those extra pixels aren't needed...

If you're a Windows user, download the free Irfanview image editor from irfanview.com. It's a very quick and easy thing to re-sample a photo to reduce the file size. It provides all the basic image editing functions, and there's a batch mode that can process multiple images.

I appreciate all the comments, it's solved my dilemma. I've got it to work for me now.

Not drone: I use Irfanview as an insurance adjuster. I take my digital inspection photos from my hand-held camera at full resolution (sometimes hundreds), then resize them with Irfanview. The batch is quite easy.

I like the idea of using a batch edit because I do take an insane amount of pictures when I fly.
