As the article says flying further than you can see may be coming.

I haven't been flying long but have often wondered why you cannot fly further than you can see I get that emergency service helicopters etc may be flying lower than normal but they make that much noise you would hear them long before it became an issue i also don't mean flying many miles away but surely as we all can see what the drone sees going a little further than line of sight wouldn't be an issue and i am sure most of us have done it more times than we would admit, maybe they could put a lower hight restriction in place and limit the length of flight to stop pilots going to extremes.

I’m with you on this. It does seem a touch restrictive-I see where the authorities are coming from (and there are idiots out there who fly recklessly) but if I find I have “lost” my drone up against a bright or contrasting sky I very quickly (panic!!) check my controller to see which way my drone is pointing and then pop it round and fly back to where I can see it-RTH can also help. With my eyes it’s often the props that tell me it’s nearby in this scenario. Don’t think we’ll see any such relaxations here!
