I pad mount for MA2

In response to the previous post:

Yes, this was a great idea. I modified them a bit. I cut the overhang back a bit and sanded one side to fit under the retainer. It’s very secure and I like that I can leave my smart case on and also use the stock cable now. I had to send my Lukefee tablet holder back, it did not work well at all.

why would you use a monster of tablet holder for $40 when you can use pocket size one for less than $4 (if you cant make it by yourself :) )

also, loads of metal right beside antennas isnt so good

Now that’s a deal! One thing I found was the viewing angle with these types of holders is very good and the tablet doesn’t interfere with flying at all.

I've found these most practical as well, whole setup takes a few seconds while with these 'pro' ones takes forever plus you need another bag to carry them around :)

yeah, handy.
in new MA2 cases is no or very little of room for ipad, so big tablet holder will cause more troubles :)

heres mine which I've made some time ago using acrylic glass and heat gun :)

Would you like to reveal the dimensions between the bends in cm? :)
total length bent 90mm, between bends 85mm, inner bends 6mm, whole lip 12mm , width 60mm . total length before bending 115mm

I’ll bet anything that the cheaper “bit of plastic” thing works a lot better than the $80 monstrosity. Keeps the tablet closer to the controller. That other thing (aside from being extra weight itself) extends the tablet too far up and out, and since this controller top-mounts the tablet, it’s a center of gravity issue and is probably laborious to hold the whole thing upright...

I made a 3D printable holder for 8 inch tablets.

Here is the link to Thingiverse:

There is also a version for 10.5 inch tablets. But I am not sure if it works since I am not able to test it.

What do you recommend for material with your designs? Nylon 12 SLS?

I have the Thor in route to me right now. With it being a bigger mount I wanted something for travel or when I needed to pack light but want to use a bigger screen than my phone. Found this one on Etsy for the iPad mini 5 and love it. Very solid, it's not going anywhere. It also has a built in lanyard hook.

It's very form-fitting for the iPad Mini 5, so much so I had to sand it just a little to work with my dbrand skin and anti-glare film screen protector. It came perfectly black (comes in other colors) but you can see where the sandpaper was rubbing as I sanded a little off the inside lip. Since the photos I used 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper and it's back to black.

If you have a iPad mini 5 this is a nice mount. The seller also has an YouTube link on his Etsy page.

I thought about integrating the Lanyard mount and the iPad mount, but that would make it too easy to have the lanyard pull the iPad out of the mount, with my setup you can practically run with it and not worry about the lanyard pulling the tablet out of the mount.

I bought one of yours for my iPad Air 3.

The way this one is designed for the iPad mini 5 the lanyard is not pulling the iPad out of the mount or off the controller. I'd be willing to bet you could run with this one holding on to just the lanyard.

This is the v3.1 from ThingVerse

Can't wait to try my new holder out. I had to use a 2" #6 scre because M3 50mm are hard to find in America.
