My mavic air decided to drive itself into a tree when the return to home was initiated, returned to over the land site and promptly decided to keep going after stopping for two seconds forty metres above the landing pad. Nothing would stop it,I had no control at all. Now it won’t allow for an IMU recalibration. Any clues?

It looks like there are more issues than just the IMU, but you really need to post a link to the logs to see what got you to that point.

There are some articles describing a process where people have lightly tapped or rapped on the drone to un jam a "MEMS sensor" then they could recalibrate again.
Maybe the logs can identify a stuck MEMS axis (X,Y or Z) and be a clue to what to try?
