I am on FlyApp v.1.14.2 in my RC Pro and histogram does not show correctly. It looks now like a narow slightly wavy line along the bottom edge (X axis) and as such it is basically useless for setting up correct exposure. I am pretty sure it used to look like a normal histogram with tall peaks and valleys in v. 1.13
Anyone else seeing this ?

(There appears to be a duplicate post in the Mavic 3 Pro forum.)

Can you post a screen shot of what you're seeing? What sort of scene are you photographing when you see the problem? Can you share an example photo?

I only updated the FlyApp day before and that is what happened after.. It was observed under bright sunny daylight condition with camera pointed at typical landscape scene with variety of colors, good contrast etc. Then I tested it at home by pointing camera at the Color Checker Passport from short distance filling almost the entire frame (blurred image) under direct sunlight. Same thing, no peaks in histogram just thin flat line along the X axis from left to right.. In the meantime I rolled back the FlyApp on my RC Pro to v.13.9 and histogram is back to normal, showing nice distribution with tall peaks from left to right and the peaks move now with changing EV compensation +/- as they should. I am now convinced that there is a bug in 1.14.2 causing this.
Sorry for the duplicate post. I was desperate to find solution to the issue on this forum but then frantically googled and eventually found a video tutorial on YT about how to roll back FlyApp.

The histogram performed normally on the Mavic 3 Pro with Fly 1.14.1 on the Smart Controller. I rigged up the old RC-N1 and the phone with Fly 1.14.2. I'm seeing the same issue you describe. It looks like the scaling on the Y-axis has been changed.

Thank you for confirming the issue with 1.14.2.
I would not call it "changed scaling on Y axis" though.
This is clearly a bug because there is this constant spike shown on left side of the histogram and the rest is just nonsensical, nonconsequential "something" not even remotely related to exposure or lightness values of pixels. BTW with Mavic 3 Pro the same incorrect histogram was shown with all 3 cameras.
I am now back to 13.9 and staying there. I am eternally greatful to DJI for allowing the roll back even though it is not easy to do
At the same time I am eternally pi#^ed off that DJI has released yet again a software riddled with bugs

YES!!!

I've posted in the DJI FB group about this and no one responded. I have the exact same issue. I even put it down as an issue when I sent a Mavic 3 Pro back for a Refresh replacement. It also wouldn't write to the SD card, but I added the histogram issue as well, thinking that was also an issue. But it is still an issue on my backup M3P.

It works fine in Video mode, but not still mode.

I've reached out to DJI US Support asking when there will be a firmware update to fix this. I'll post what I hear back.

If you have M3P I would suggest to roll back the Fly version in your controller. The v.1.14.2 was released for Neo anyway. I am now back to 1.13.9 in my RC Pro and histogram works correctly for stills as well as video on all 3 cameras

The 1.14.2 upgrade became available for the RC Pro controller became available during the last four days, and I installed the update today. The problem with the histogram seems to have been resolved.

Good to hear. I am sticking with 13.9 though. The 14.xx was mostly issued for Neo and there is nothing there new or worthy upgrading for M3 users anyway.

Following your post I updated the FlyApp on my RC Pro to v. 1.14.2 and regretably the histogram issue is still an issue, showing only a flat line with no peaks. Rolled back to 13.9 again and the histogram is correct.

That's odd. On my Mavic 3 Pro with RC Pro controller, the histogram is working normally with Fly 1.14.2. Here's part of a screen shot from a few minutes ago.

That is odd indeed. Could that have something to do with iteration/age of the controller having different internal electronic components perhaps??
I'd guess that it was software-related rather than hardware-related. Maybe a code interaction with a completely unrelated setting, like a different video encoding format or having focus peaking set.

Yeah, perhaps it is software related. I did not play with 14.2 much i.e. trying various setting combinations etc. The few settings in my Fly App which I do remember were: obstacle avoidance off, radar display was off, video recording codec was .h265 4K 30fps, exposure was Pro all manual not Auto, Shutter Speed in Auto mode for taking photos, rest manual, Focus Auto, Highlights overexposure off.
If you happen to uncover the setting combination/interaction causing this issue let us know
Anyway, I am glad that rolling back to 13.9 resolved the issue for me

My RC Pro is doing the same thing. I tried downgrading to the previous version in assistant 2 but it did not fix the histogram. Although Fly was indicating a new firmware was available after the downgrade, the version number (14.2) remained the same.

This is frustrating as I rely on the histogram to get correct exposures.

Try rolling back to 13.9 using RC Pro, not Assistant 2.
1. Do not power up Mavic3
2. Power up RC Pro
3. Scroll up with your finger pulling up the bottom edge of the screen. You should see several icons on the bottom of the screen.
4. Click on Settings icon
5. Click on Apps and notifications
6. Click on the DJI Fly
7. In top right corner click on the 3 dots
8. Uninstall the updates.
9. You should see Fly App version 1.13.9

Your programable buttons will reset back to default. You will need to re-assign your preferred functions
You will need to logg-in into your DJI account.

Thanks, I’ll try that as soon as my controller finishes charging.

Chris

That process resets Fly to factory settings but not to the version before the problems started in 14.1 - correct?

If I want to return to the previous version, will I have the option to update to it?

There have been lots of updates since I got my controller a few years ago.

The process described above rolled back 1.14.2 to 1.13.9 on my RC Pro and histogram works correctly again.
My understanding is that v.14 was mainly released to accommodate the Neo drone. None of the Fly 1.14. iterations bring anything new or worthy to Mavic 3 users. I would suggest you stick with 13.9. That is what I have done and everything works just fine including the histogram.
Not sure what happened with your RC Pro. Power up your drone and RC Pro, open Camera View, click on the 3 dots in top right corner and look into last tab called "About". There should be App Version shown as 1.13.9. If that is the case you are good to go. Just do not forget to re-assign the functions to the programable buttons as you desire.
