I have had my Mavic over a year now and only used gesture once, so I am not qualified to comment on that.

On the height issue, Go 4 will give me a message that I am either too close or not high enough.

Are you out of beginner mode and have you enabled multiple flight modes?

I found this: Active track fail after rollback from 1000

This is the cause of my problem....

It may be a blessing in disguise. Active track has been involved in a lot of crashes.
