Interesting RTH Routine.

Today I actually managed to get a flight in between the crappy weather here in the UK.

I wanted to understand what happens when I initiated RTH, and after visually and then analyzing the flight log was surprised what I found.

1) Hit RTH button

2) Preassend MM didn't change it's heading but rises 4.5 M

3) The MM rotates and aligns with the home point

4) Increases altitude to RTH height setting

5) Flies at P mode speed to above the home point.

Your correct, but it was still very interesting to test and play around and learn the flight log files.

You should know that without flight data. Why were you surprised? Posting about what you learned is not the way to learn flight data.

Yes your totally correct, maybe the best thing I learnt is reading the flight logs and eventually helping less experienced pilots out.
