One other thing you may want to consider here is do you want your telemetry data/flight logs to be easily accessible. I don't have an iPad or iPhone that I use with the drone but I have heard it is more difficult to get the data off. I think this becomes mostly moot if you are using something like Healthy Drones to store your drone data since it has an app that will upload for you.

Beware of mini ipad 2. It does not seem to work. I bought one and had to dump it and bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2016 and it works great.

I normally use my iPad Mini 4 these days, but my iPad Mini 2 is still able to run DJI GO 3/4. Lots of people are using the iPad Mini 2. Yours might run better with these tweaks.

I am using a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0. Since it is a 7 inch tablet it fits in the controller landscape style perfectly, I then bought a set of right angle microUSB to standard USB cables so that I can connect the tablet without a bunch of cable in the way. Below is a pick of my controller setup...

Can I ask were you got the cables? I am using the tab A as well, do you notice any lag? I do when the MP is at distance?
