ipad 3 cooling tips?

It's getting that time of year in the Southern United States where the Apple products start showing their cons instead of their pros.
Has anyone come up with any ingenious ideas for keeping the ipad Mini 3 or 4 cool on those 90+ degree days?
My Mini 3 and 4 start lagging about 5 minutes into the flight and then shut down by 10 minutes.

I'm using the Mini 3 on a Phantom 3 SE and the Mini 4 on a Mavic Pro.
Using the Android ( Nvidia and Nexus K1) is a cure but I'd rather keep the ipads on line for capturing the screen.
Any ideas?
 
I'm looking at one of these:
 
Here are some simple things that can be done:
  • If the iPad is in a case, remove the case before flying
  • Stand in a shady area while flying

Buy Android?
I have no problem with mine here in Central QLD where the temp goes well past 100.
