iPad clarification needed..

I’m sure this has been covered a million times, but I see so many different responses and need clarification once and for all.

If I purchase a cellular capable iPad to use as a dedicated screen for the Mavic, does it HAVE to be hooked up wih a cell phone company to enable the GPS features? Yes, I want to be able to use the Active Track, and change RTH on the go....

OK, so I could purchase a used cellular enabled iPad and use it without a cell company, and have no loss of features...It would be just like using my cellphone, with a bigger screen....

Yes. You just need the cellular version since Wi-Fi only Apple devices do not contain a GPS receiver.
