IPad mini3 & best luminous Android

I see many people talking about iPad mini 2 & 4 but is there a reason not to get a mini 3 for the mavic...?

Also, as I would like to avoid IOS, what android tablet would have good brightness, stability & fit into the remote without extension? (I read Nvidia shield is not so bright and probably don't fit the remote...)

The iPad Mini 3 has the same processor as the iPad Mini 2. Many people buy the iPad Mini 2 since it's cheaper. The iPad Mini 3 will work equally as well though.
