There is no benefit to deep discharging Mavic batteries.

To keep lithium batteries at their best you don't charge above 80% or drain below 20%

Down at 1% you can do alot of damage

If a cell goes below 3v then it probably won't recover

also how do you do it?

I do a deep (8%) discharge every 20-30 flights. I usually hover until it gets down to 8%, others just leave the drone on for an hour or two on the table to let it get down that low.

@Haloweenhamster is right, anything below around 8% could kill your lipo. The Mavic will usually turn itself off when it gets down to 5% just due to the amp draw.
