Is firmware update ignorable?

I may be getting into a situation where I will be in and out of coverage and don't want to go to fly my air2s and it says I need to update firmware prior to flying when I am out in the wilderness. Is there a way to bypass this so I can fly and then update later? I really cannot find the answer via my searches/investigation...thanks for the help.

Yes ... it's completely optional.
But you'll need to disable the ability for apps to auto-update on your phone or tablet.
