Is it a good idea to delete flight records?

For privacy reasons I want to delete flight records in the DJI Fly app. Is it a good or bad idea? What happens if I send my drone to service and they can't find any flight records? I assume they check it so maybe they can get an idea of what components need to be replaced because of wear, correct me if I'm wrong.

That will only delete the TXT flight logs from your remote controller (if it has a touchscreen) or connected mobile device where DJI Fly is installed.

DJI will use the DAT flight logs stored on the drone itself.

Thanks for the quick answer. I guess it's okay to delete them then.

Yes, it's okay to delete them if you don't plan on reviewing your flight logs.

Your privacy concerns are exaggerated.
Leaving the flight records on the controller won't compromise your privacy.

There is no periodic servicing needed, so you'd only be sending your drone in for crash repair.
The service techs wouldn't care whether there are flight records or not.
But if you were trying to claim warranty replacement, you'd need to have the flight data for DJI to assess the incident.

There won't be any wear and if there was, it would be evident without looking at flight data.

I forgot to mention it's a Mavic 4 Pro with a DJI RC Pro 2 controller.

You mean if the drone is damaged or lost so they can't access it perhaps.

If I give DJI access to flight records in the cloud, can I remove them from the controller if there's a warranty claim or do they disappear from the cloud also then?

If the drone crashes and I want to start a warranty claim, then the last flight record will be there since I obviously won't delete that, so it should not matter if I delete flight records.

You can sync the flight records the delete them. That’s what DJI had me do when my controller filled up and I was getting a ‘can’t save flight records’ message every flight.
