Is it possible to continuously receive GPS data from the DJI Mini 2 SE drone during flight? In my project, I need to obtain the GPS data of my location while the drone is in flight, and I need to transfer this data to a Python script.
The drone records GPS data continuously. Is it possible to continuously receive GPS data from the DJI Mini 2 SE drone during flight? In my project, I need to obtain the GPS data of my location while the drone is in flight, and I need to transfer this data to a Python script.
You would have to build it. The parts are available. or you could use a ready to go one BUT these Require a subscription and I have no idea about how they are used.Thank you for your response. You mentioned the GPS box; if you could provide a resource on this topic, it would be very helpful to me.

Have I missed something?I have a Garmin GLO2 Bluetooth GPS that could be attached to a UAV then the gps co-ords are available for any mapping application. I use OSMand+ for mapping on a 10in tablet. The Garmin GLO2 weighs about 60gm so that may be too much for your little UAV. Have at look at the GLO2 specs for the range but I think it is reasonable
"I will run the Python code on a remote computerand where would the python script be running
I aim to perform crowd detection using AI during the drone flight and obtain the location data of the detected crowd. I also need to retrieve this location data from the drone.Have I missed something?
Would this suggestion provide anything different from simply extracting the GPS location data from the recorded flight data?
If I can't retrieve the GPS data from the drone, I will attach an external GPS as you suggestedI have a Garmin GLO2 Bluetooth GPS that could be attached to a UAV then the gps co-ords are available for any mapping application. If you just want to extract the data after a flight, that's very easy.If I can't retrieve the GPS data from the drone, I will attach an external GPS as you suggested
I'm looking to access the GPS data live while the drone is flying, as I need this information for real-time crowd detection using AI.It might help if you explain in more detail what it is that you are wanting to do?
Are you wanting to see the GPS data live as the drone flies or do you just need to be able to retrieve the data?

Your recorded flight data is in your controller or the phone/tablet you use to fly.
Here's an example of the first few columns from a spreadsheet of 190 columns of the recorded flight data.

Would that be of any use (or not) ?
The device mentioned in post #9 isn't going to help unless your drone is very close - within blueotooth range.I'm looking to access the GPS data live while the drone is flying, as I need this information for real-time crowd detection using AI.
