Yes it’s backwards compatible with any drones which are OS4 and onwards, so Mini 4 Pro, Air 3 and Air 3s

Yes, I just paired mine after a firmware update to the 3S. I had a couple of hiccups pairing but after you successfully pair, each time you power on the remote it connects to the Air 3S, I just tried it 4 times and it worked each time. I think that the drone should be powered off before the RC 2 is powered off.
I also paired the RC 2 to my Mini 4 pro and it worked each time.

The usual way was power up the remote, then the drone, then reverse order for shut down

I would like to pass this on ,as of late google has been using AI to answer questions on just about anything including things DJI and seems to be extremely accurate ,I have two RC2 controllers one is for the mini 4 pro and the other for the AIR 3s ,I wanted to just use either one and you can but there is a binding and re-binding process as DJI insists that one bird can be bound to one controller at a time ,so I asked GOOGLE and the AL part took over and said as much ,point I am trying to get accross is GOOGLE AI seems to have ALL the answers

You and all of the rest of us. Obvious political issue that DJI tried to pawn off on the tariff issue . . . . . except the tariffs were suspended 2 days prior to the Mavic 4 release, so only a fool would buy that explanation. Not that I blame DJI since our congress has been trying their best to ban DJI ever since Skydio had their lobbyists pay off as many congressmen as they could afford to vote to ban DJI, first because their drones supposedly transmitted user data to the CCP, and then (after DJI proved that was not true in congressional hearings) because of supposed labor act violations (even though DJI offered to build facilities in the US to build drones sold her in the US). No one wants to be honest and admit that there is no such thing as a US built drone. Some, like Sjydio, may be assembled here but they all get the motors and most other electronic components from Chinese electronics companies because our government drove that type of manufacturing our of the US over a decade ago & voters all cheered when they did it.

I didn't know all those things that happened 10 years ago, so thank you for informing me.
There is a question here that has been asked a few times, but there was no answer that could convince me to buy the new RC valued at 1200 Euro. So, please, what advantages does the new RC offer when used for the mini 4 pro or the Air 3s. Thank you for everybody posting.
