I have had my Mavic 4 for four days and am very pleased with it. The video and photo quality is outstanding and is better than my Air 3S. Flying the drone with the RC 2 Pro is smooth once you set up the controls and the screen is awesome no more looking for shade to view the screen. I do recommend the 240W charger it is well worth the cost. I was surprised that even shooting in normal mode the video quality is good, I shoot in D-Log M for the best quality. Its a lot of money for the drone and accessories but once you start flying this high tech beast you will soon forget about the cost. I live in Canada so no problem buying one when in stock. It would be nice if Americans could purchase the Mavic 4 Pro, hopefully that will be sorted out soon.I'm not seeing a lot of posts praising it.
I noticed that also. If you look closely, I think there may be more antennas than just the ones that rotate.the biggest question I have is the antenna. it doesn't appear that they can be adjusted so it would require you hold the body with the sticks in a particular position in order to have them optimally lined up for best transmission.
Im seriously interested in this controller now that it’s compatible with the 3s. Pricey, but still interested when they become available in the US.
Are you flying from the subject boat, another craft or land?an 8" screen would had been better and the screen can easily get scratched. 7" is the minimum and why they went with it. That's if you want to get shots like this as nobody can touch my drone flying skills around boats. But then again I'm only saying this because I haven't seen anyone yet but I'm sure there is.
Dynamic HP actually a feature unique to the RC Pro 2, that is only supported by the Mavic 4 Pro at present. When the Mavic 4 Pro is used with the cheaper RC 2 controller, Dynamic Home Point is unavailable, as the RC 2 does not have Dynamic HP capability. It's a really nice controller. I bought it for my 3s as well but got a bit disappointed since I misunderstood a feature that is only available to the mavic 4 pro...
I'm a lot in the mountains and during hiking i fly as well so I need to constantly update my controller position because sometimes it is really hard to find my way back to my current location. One of the last video i did from the Trift Suspension Bridge i had exactly the problem where the drone flew back to the "home" point where i was 20 minutes ago hiking back to the car so I had to interrupt several times the automatic rth.
I thought the dynamic home point update is a feature of the DJI RC Pro 2 but no its a feature pf the mavic 4 pro...
When you say the screen can easily get scratched, is that just your assumption because it is exposed, or have you actually scratched it or know of anyone who has?an 8" screen would had been better and the screen can easily get scratched. 7" is the minimum and why they went with it. I have a screen protector on all my controller screens. Doesn't diminish it and makes me feel better....When you say the screen can easily get scratched, is that just your assumption because it is exposed, or have you actually scratched it or know of anyone who has?
The CC bag does a wonderful job of protecting the RC PO 2 screen during transport, and I've never scratched any of my other screens or tablets or phones, so I disagree with his easily scratched comment. I did, however, manage to run over one phone on a scooter while searching for it in dark, when it fell out of the crappy phone mount at high speed. Crunch! Found it! LOL!I have a screen protector on all my controller screens. Doesn't diminish it and makes me feel better....
Just don't rotate the antennas down LOL. Seriously....I have yet to need to do so but all my flying has actually been in VLOS. I don't think I'll ever need to use the antennas as long as I can actually see my drone. Maybe I should test it. I KNOW that if I am technically in VLOS sight...actually able to see the orientation of my drone (how many people actually fly with their drone that close...my guess is not many) I will never have to lower the antennas. In practical terms I do often go past my ability to see the orientation of my drone but I know it from my screen view and I still have never had to lower my antennas, even in situations when my Mav3 Pro might start to show yellow for my controller connection.I'm more worried about the rotated down antennas snapping when the RC pro 2 is set down on them, forgetfully. You don't extend yours, so you are safe from that!
