Issues flying sideways - Wisdom of the Crowd

Hello UAV pilots!

I fly a Mavic Air II, and last week the drone stopped flying sideways. Any suggestions?

Firmware version(s)? What "mode" where you in? Did it crash?

Just turn off the switch in the setting that prevents it from flying sideway.

The Air 2 is not equipped with side sensors for obstacle avoidance so flying sideway is considered dangerous. That's also why the setting is under the safety category.

Rumour has it that in the next version there will be an option to prevent the craft from powering up to achieve absolute safety. ???

Firmware updates. Did not crash (today) ; ). And I was flying in sport mode, which might be the solution! I’ll try this tonight. Thanks.

isn't that what that icon above the takeoff icon is for? I never use it but I can see how it would be easy to enable
