This is my first new drone since the original Mavic Air. It’s ideal for me as I need something more simple these days, and the occusynch makes me feel more at ease.

Time to read the manual!

Enjoy.
SLOW AND LOW at first, please don't be the first to post "I crashed"
Hah. No worries on that score. I've never crashed a drone in nine years (touchwood) and I'm not planning on starting now. Besides, it's grim weather here - so lots of time to read the manual, and figure out what's different between DJI Go and DJI Fly. :)

Well I see you got your eyesight back A Sad Goodbye from Me
I wish.... that's not going to happen though. But, as I said in my chat with @DoomMeister yesterday (when he deleted that thread for me) - in the last six months I've come to terms with life with one eye, and gotten over my initial 'giving up on everything' mood and the stress and depresion that came with it. I was hoping to keep that off the board, but as you've 'outed' me publically I don't really have a choice but to explain, so thanks for that :( ....

It's now just the new normal, and with adaptations I can do most things, including the things I love. My wife will be coming with me to act as a spotter, and the Mini is hopefully going to be less complicated to fly.

Well you don't start a thread your going blind then have it deleted.
Surely you didn’t think members would forget.
Good luck and hope you the best but please be careful .

I didn't expect people to forget at all. A lot of people on here know who I am, and have done for years. But they were still replying to it as if it was new, and I felt like a fraud as I'd moved on and gotten used to it, and made changes to my life and how I do things in the months since I'd posted it. Maybe I should have explained that in the thread rather than asking for it to be deleted, but in all honesty I felt rather silly - and now, even more so.

Don’t feel silly just enjoy what you got and carry on.?

@Lastrexking i am rather taken aback by what you did ,no one would have minded if you had come back to the forum and explained the changes to your circumstances since your original post way back when
no one is happier than me that you have come to terms with your eye problems and are rebuilding you life
i think that maybe with hind sight (no pun intended) then going forwards, just tell it like it is good luck in the future

I just didn’t want to explain to the world how I was mentally at the time, and now I’ve had to do that anyway. It’s all very embarrassing.

Then you should have messaged staff that are on here almost
nonstop so we knew. But someone would have caught it anyway.
We’re all friends here and we need to be straight up with each other if we converse much. Sorry I called you out on it but better
me than a member . Now we know let’s just let it go and enjoy
your back and get you back up and flying.
It’s all good.
Now make us a video ?

It’s been foggy for about 6576 days now. At least it feels that way. Plus, we’re in lockdown part deux... so video is a while off.

Yeah, I should have just addressed it in that old post. I just didn’t want the attention. Sorry if I made it awkward.

Why can’t DJI make there drones waterproof, other companies have.
I don't think anyone makes things truly waterproof. However DJI drones do seem to have a coating on their boards to lessen the chance of water damage.
It would be quite difficult to waterproof gimbals as they have moving parts. They're more susceptible to debris than the water itself.

And I think we were having a conversation here so let’s stay on topic and not get into another one here . Okey-dokey. ?
