I've lost my mavic pro any help would be appreciated

Hey guys, just want to say a massive thanks to everyone who offered to help me out of there own goodwill. I didn’t have any luck as it’s pretty rugged country where it has ended up, it was a pretty good adventure and some excercise and fresh air if nothing else. Anyhow just wanted you legends to know I really appreciate it. I’ve attached a few photos of my adventure so have a laugh at my expense and shake your head lol. I’ll be back in a week or 2 with a new drone. Thanks again Mat

That's tough terrain for searching. A white Phantom would have been much easier to spot than a Mavic.

That’s for sure sar, it’s a mission to get to get there in itself there is not a single track anywhere was just making my own,the first day I wore shorts that was nearly as stupid at flying the drone over there in the first place cuts galore haha, where it is is mostly like the last 2 photos. Atleast I know I’ve made some attempt in finding it and couldn’t so that requires me to go and buy a new one.

never ceases to amaze me how far these will fly, and I don't have the guts to fly mine anywhere near as far as it can fly-if I lose sight of mine (at maybe 1800-2000 feet), I rely on the images being transmitted and the radar tracker on the lower left corner-but not being able to SEE the bird is still unnerving. If I look down at the screen to actually see how far away I am, I can lose sight of it when I look up, so I tend to try to stand in the center of a wide open area and I will fly out maybe 2000+ feet, bring it back and then go 2000+ feet in the opposite direction...I used to have a Phantom 3 Standard and could actually fly it out further since, being larger, it was easy to see at 2000+ feet. I cannot image being out almost 15,000 feet!
Same here: Besides the fact that you legally have to keep your MP in line of sight, I find it unnerving too, when I can not see it anymore..

Get a Trackimo for your next one. There are mounts that you can 3d print or if you need a mount 3d printed let me know.

Hi Tas, I didn’t have much luck I went out there twice for about an hour each time, it’s terrible terrain to be trying to find anything in not to mention getting in and out of there on foot. I’ll purchase a new one this week and put a gps on it although I cannot see myself doing anything this stupid again . Will be nice to have a few extra battery’s aswell.
Mat, I have a Marco Polo on my MP as I live in a mountainous forest. The one time I made a mistake and hit a tree flying backwards over 1400 feet from takeoff, it took about an hour to reach the MP but the Marco Polo took me right to it. Good Luck.

G’day jay, yeah I know that all good, I’ve learnt the hard way here. I’ve given up on it, I’ll buy a fresh one and take a bit more care in my actions from now on. Cheers mat
Maybe a good Samaritan will find it... do you have your contact info on it? I put a decal on mine with my phone number and "Reward if found".

Don't fly over country you would not like to hike through if you are going to gamble with long distance and low battery level.

I'm continually reading about lost or crashed drones where the person could have continued to fly and have control for quite some extra time.

In this case, the battery was critical 10% and starts to auto land. That does not mean the end. You can still override this with the controls and continue flying for a minute or more. I don't know how far out the OP was but he could have at least taken control and found a suitable spot to land.

No one is going walking out there anytime soon but I’ll put details on the next one for sure.

Yeah I won’t be in future, first and last time that will be happening. Expensive little excersise that day.

Hey grizzo, I lost all contact with the drone, I was going up to come home when it hit critically low, it started descending I was in a fluster trying to cancel it landing in that few seconds trying to cancel landing it went from 63m down to about 32m at which point i lost all contact. There’s a million things about this flight I would change if I could but for now me mavic is history. Cheers mate

I understand you can kind of panic in such a situation, but when it hit critically low you would have had your fingers on the controls. All you had to do was continue to fly the aircraft instead of just letting it go down. You are warned the battery is critical but you still have 10%. You can take control and fly wherever you want for a minute or more.
My point is I see many people not take control when they are able to.

I am new to the Mavic world as some of you know. I am amazed and impressed by the abilities of some people to analyze the Flight Logs so thoroughly. I hope I am never in Mat685's position but if so I know where to go for help.
