I was really fighting the wind this day. My grand plans of following the rig out to the Gulf of Mexico were quickly dashed. Best I could do was getting her leaving the shipyard en route to sea.

What shipyard was this near Jacinto port or somewhere else in Texas?
 
I've seen those rigs many times in the Gulf but I've never seen one leave the terminal until now. Fascinating! For the life of me, I don't understand how they don't just topple over...they are so tall! Must be a lot or ballast below the water line we don't see. Thanks for sharing. Nice flying too.

Very cool! It's always amazed me how these things float and are jacked-up. Great video.
