Good day fellow Droners
I’ve upgraded from my P3Adv to the Mavic Air but the footage during (and after) flight jumps especially when turning.
I did see that my SD card might need upgrading so got the Extreme Pro from Sandusky but have the same problems... any idea or back to the shop with it?
Cheers for any advice

Are you using a ND filter to slow the shutter speed?

I don't have the Air, but the MP/MPP needs a neutral density (ND) filter installed to slow the shutter speed. This adds a bit of motion blur that makes for smooth video. The general rule is you want to the shutter speed set to twice the frame rate. So if I'm filming 30fps I would want my shutter speed to be at 1/60th (ISO at 100 or as low as you can for quality). A good starting point is ND4 for sunrise/set, ND8 for cloudy days, ND16 for sunny days, and ND32 or 64 for bright sun on sand or snow. No ND filter is needed for photos unless you want some motion blur.

Got any sample footage you can share?

Hi! I tried a 5 second clip but it says “file does not have an allowed extension “

Sometimes the footage is slow then speeds up but mostly it sticks for a split second and then jumps to real time... soo frustrating

The "especially when turning" is indicative of a shutter speed problem. If the shutter speed is too fast the video will look "jittery", especially when turning. This is corrected by using ND filters to slow shutter speed and induce some motion blur...

This looks more like a SD card problem or a display problem. If the SD card is too slow it will not record properly. If your computer or the video card in it is not powerful enough your video may not run smoothly (my old computer could not even run 4K video). You should also copy the video file to your computer and then run that file, instead of trying to run directly off the card. Does the problem occur when recording in a lower resolution?

I have not found much information on the Sandusky brand. Perhaps you could try using a SanDisk U3 card. Be aware that there have been reports of counterfeit cards on the market so buy from a reputable dealer.

You can upload a sample video to YouTube and post the link back here to share it.

Sorry... autocorrect ‍♂️
SanDisk Extreme Pro 32GB purchased from a main retail shop here in Norway

It sure looks like a recording glitch. Try a different high quality, fast (U3) SD card or a lower resolution.

Once again, what were your camera settings? What resolution?

Sorry for the delay, I just turned the drone on to find the settings... is this correct???
