Here's the flight log data

Airdata UAV - Flight Data Analysis for Drones

I was flying and got a motor error, it started to RTH and then based on the video it just fell out of the sky....how long will the battery last just laying on ground? It was not recording and there is no water nearby

Does anyone have any suggestions? I took controller over in the area on map and it just says connecting....

There are no obstacles to hit in the area, other than say, a bird?

It looks like it landed in a tree (or right next to it).

i will go check again, any idea why it would not be still giving signal? it had 97% battery...how long would it last with props not spinning for me to try and find with controller? appreciate your quick response, how did you get that map?? the video feed i watched showed it coming down pretty fast so it was hard to tell what was going on

I downloaded the KML file from Airdata and opened it in Google Earth. That's where that screenshot came from.

If you upload your TXT flight log here, it'll show more data than Airdata.

Find my drone should also tell you where it is or at least where it last was when it had signal.

If it was a hard impact the battery may have popped out which would not let you connect to the rc.

FOUND IT, battery popped out and it took out a tree limb, the gimbal is hanging loosely and it definitely needs to be repaired now, i am wondering how DJI will handle this being a new drone and seemingly being hardware error

Glad you found it. Looks like you had VLOS at the time of motor obstruction, any chance you could have hit a bird?

I see no evidence of striking anything other than the tree, there were no birds in area at the time, after the Anomaly I did the RTH and that's when it glitches the second time and went down hard

Where do I find that in the logs? I assume it was on but never got any obstacle alerts, it went into RTH mode as I commanded and then went from 150ft to 8ft in 4 seconds, which was it losing control of itself

Sent it off to DJI, I thought it being less than 4 weeks old it had some sort of warranty

DJI offered me no explanation and instead just gave a breakdown of all the damaged components, I had to call back in and request a re-evaluation of it, i'm disappointed so far with the refusal to repair this under product warranty

If you upload your TXT flight log here and post a link back here, I'll take a look at your flight log and see if it explains what happened.

How many props were attached to your Mavic when you found it?
What condition were they in when you found your Mavic?

here's a picture of what it looked like, i literally picked it up and placed it in the car like this, found it on the ground in this same configuration

Your flight log doesn't indicate what happened. All you can really see is that things went downhill fast after the "Motor Current Error" displayed. Unless DJI explains what happened, you probably won't be able to figure it out without looking at the DAT flight log (which is stored on the Mavic's internal memory card).

thank you for taking the time to review, i agree with you and as i stated to DJI on the phone, i'd really like an explanation of where the error occurred, the burden of proof is on them with the unit and the log files to say this was operator error, i do not feel it was, and i'd like to see what the cause was, and how it can be prevented, if it was a faulty part or software, then they should disclose that so i have confidence flying the new unit, i.e, "you had a bad motor, we replaced it, this shouldn't happen again" is much more comforting than "yeah that went bad didn't it , pay us to fix it and you can go fly again, hopefully it won't happen again"

Since all of the props were attached and not broken, I can only assume there was some kind of issue with one of the motors.

You'll need to work with DJI directly since they have the flight log that contains the data you need. Maybe try calling them again to see if they'll explain what those motors errors mean.

i am doing that, i was told they would re-evaluate, what really does not set well with me is that the repair bill they are proposing does not replace any of the motors, see attached
