Ever since I bought the spark, I've always wanted to upgrade to the MP. Today I was able to get a used one of Craig's list for what I think is a very reasonable price. So my only real question right now is, Is there anything I need to be aware of with the MP, like the battery issue with the spark or the sparks random fly aways. Now if I can get a buyer for the spark, all will be good.

Congrats on your purchase. I always worried the gimble was too fragile on the MP and would break, so I’d say take care of it and be gentle. However I never had any issues with it and probably worried unnecessary as it never gave me any real world problems at all. Get out there fly it and enjoy it, it’s a marvel or engineering. Good luck in selling the spark.

Welcome to the MP I am new also I have two flights under my belt. What a fun drone to fly. Learning its capabilities will take awhile. I watch YouTube videos to help me out. Enjoy it. I have three batteries and plan to buy more to take advantage of my drive to a safe location to fly.

I agree with Jerry...the gimbal is (mechanically) the most fragile part but I’ve had no problems.

That being said get a good aftermarket one-piece gimbal guard...much easier to put on and take off the bird than the DJI 2-piece assembly.

Also, landing leg extensions keep the camera/gimbal further off the ground...and the addition of a landing pad helps keep stuff on the ground from being kicked up into the camera and motors.

All three of these items can be had very inexpensively and you can find various bundles of these accessories on eBay and Amazon. Money well spent.

Fly safe.

Thank you for all the advise. Coming from a DJI drone to this helped alot. The nice thing about buying used, is I got all the extras like leg extensions, cases and guards with the purchase. With my spark I had to buy all this over time. It's alot easier to keep this one LOS too.

I wouldn't start off by mentioning the battery issues or random fly-aways when advertising the Spark for sale.

It's a good point, but I'd like to think if someone is looking to invest a couple hundred dollars, they'd do a little research and all ready know this.

Congrats on your purchase.
I have had my MP since Jan. of 2017 and have had zero issues.
I might recommend doing a battery test to determine the condition of the battery.
Fully charge them and then fly them in a safe spot and just let the MP hover about 4 feet up in one spot.
You should get about 17 to 20 minutes before the MP will auto land assuming no wind.
If you get less than about 17 to 20 minutes the batteries might be starting to show some normal aging.
BTW, you might put your general location in your profile so we have an idea where you are. This is helpful when we try to respond to your upcoming questions since different areas have different rules.
Enjoy your Mavic.
