Hi,

I love to fly my mini over wild areas and over the sea for long distances. I realise that I may not be keeping the RC antenna well facing the AC in both horizontal and vertical planes. Most likely I'm good in regards to my orientation but the elevation possibly could be better. I've seen several hit over 4km with the same setup. Just checking if there's possibly an app (the radar is always off) that can help with that. It would really help me with whale watching.

Thanks!

Note: No rules against no-VLOS here and I'm over areas that are not populated.

The stock omni-directional antennas have a balloon shaped radiation pattern.
You probably only need to angle back the antenna blades as the AC moves further away or higher, so that the strongest signal is pointed at the drone

Thanks But I'm also using a yagi on CE version so if I'm not perfectly in the right direction in both planes I'm not able to push far :)
